Hole (pin) size is approximately 1.5mm which will accommodate up to an 16 gauge wire (with a little wiggle). These pliers are made of thick carbon steel, feature ergonomic handles, and come with an extra replaceable pin.
These hole punch pliers will punch through Copper, Sterling Silver and Aluminum up to 20 gauge. They will punch Brass, Silver Filled and Gold Filled up to 22 gauge. They will punch Nickel Silver up to 24 gauge.

These pliers will leave a small mar on your metal right next to the hole. To avoid this, tear off a small piece of thick paper (like card stock) and punch a hole in it with your plier. Let the paper stay on your pin sitting up where the pin connects to the plier. This will act like a cushion.

This is what I use to make my holes in my blanks, over time the handle will come off. Just super glue it back in and your good. When the punches dull simply buy replacements and your good to go again
So far the pliers are working good they punch through 20g blanks with no problem I am happy to have them.
Well impressed as they went through the 6" bracelet blanks. Very happy with them.
Ordered to use with 16 gauge 1/4" chain mail links. I thought that the description "with a little wiggle" meant that there would be a little wiggle room for the wire in the hole, but actually means if you try really hard you might be able to force a 16 gauge wire through the hole.
While not right for my project, they seem like great quality and worked very well on the dime I used as a test piece. I plan on getting the same brand in the larger size.
