Chasing Hammers have a large face for flattening.
Hammer face is chrome plated for an extra smooth finish.
This face is 25mm (1") in diameter.
There is a ball-peen side for riveting and metal design (the "hammered" look).
The forged head is wedge mounted on a wooden handle.

This hammer is slightly convex so there is a large striking area but the edges are smooth. Totally flat chasing hammers might mar the edges of your metal which is why we like this guy.

Do not use this hammer for stamping, the back of the shanks will mar your hammer. For stamping, you want just a big ol' nail pounding hammer (at least 16 ounces).

Love using the hammer. Weight is just right and enjoy using both heads, especially the ball-peen head for a nice texture on my wire. Great price.

I love being able to texture the edges of a stamping blank with this. It gives it a nice finished all around look. Also can help if a stamp gets closer to the edge of the blank than I like, this helps to reshape that area too.

This is a great improvement from the old chasing hammer that I had. The only thing is getting used to hammering with it as it is a little more domed than my other one was. After practicing I love the way my wire looks especially after texturing.
