About Beaducation
Woooweee, major changes have been happening around here. Here's the backstory...
Beaducation has always been about learning, sharing, and evolving.
Teaching has been a thread running through my entire life. I have a degree in Child Development and began my career as a school teacher long before I ever picked up a hammer or torch. When I discovered jewelry making, that passion for teaching came with me, it just found a new form.
After years of traveling and teaching in-person workshops, I wanted to make learning more accessible. In 2007, we launched our very first online class, long before online education was what it is today.
At the time, there wasn’t an easy way to host or embed videos (this was way before YouTube is what it is today), so with the help of my husband Paul, we built our own system from the ground up. Our team developed the original viewer and website, and together we created something that allowed people to learn jewelry making from anywhere in the world.
As Beaducation grew, I began collaborating with other talented artists, expanding our class offerings and building a full learning platform. We supported those classes with thoughtfully curated tools, materials, and kits, creating a complete experience for makers.
At our peak, we were traveling to multiple trade shows each year, I was teaching sold-out classes at national events, and running everything out of a 7,000 square foot workspace. It was a full, exciting, and incredibly rewarding chapter.
But over time, things shifted. Trends changed, priorities evolved, and the business naturally became smaller. In 2025, I made the difficult decision to close Beaducation as it had existed for so many years. It wasn’t easy, but it was the right choice.
With time off and the chance to really reflect, I realized something important. Of everything we taught and offered over the years, metal stamping became our true specialty. It was the thing that truly stuck, for us and for so many of you. Through our classes, our thousands of Original Design Stamps, and writing two books (one co-written with the wildly talented Taryn McCabe), we were lucky to help that trend grow. That realization is what led me to reopen the Beaducation shop in a simpler, more focused way.
So while the name Beaducation may not perfectly capture what we do anymore, it still holds the heart of where we started and we love it for that.
Today, Beaducation is a small, intentionally low-key business, run by just me. I focus on offering my design stamps (and a few supporting materials), keeping things manageable, creative, and fun.
It’s quieter. It’s more personal. And honestly, it’s exactly what I want it to be....give me more time to make jewelry!
Thanks for being here, whether you’ve been part of the journey for years or are just discovering Beaducation now.
XOXO, Lisa (and family)
