Little did she know that this humble beginning would ignite a lifelong passion. With determination and a thirst for knowledge, she enrolled in classes, quickly progressing from basic beads to the exquisite world of semi-precious gemstones and the art of metalsmithing.

With a background in mediaeval studies and dreams of defending her dissertation, life had other plans for her. A year-long dissertation rewrite loomed on the horizon, and Mary needed a creative outlet to channel her energy.

Meet Kelly Finn, whose journey into the world of jewelry making began with childhood memories and a deep love for textures and stories, and our Maker of the Month for August 2023. Kelly's journey into the world of jewelry making can be traced back to her cherished moments spent with her beloved "Nana." Playing with what her grandmother fondly called "junk jewelry" became a magical experience for Kelly.

Originally a beader, maker Elly delved into the wonderful world of metal stamping and hand-cutting metal, and has never looked back. Elly Cole of London, England is our Maker of the Month for July 2023. She started making jewelry as a hobby to keep her entertained while her kids were young and her ex-husband was in Afghanistan, but was itching for something a little more. She felt as though her pieces were missing a little something, which is what prompted her to create her own personalized charms for her own jewelry pieces through the medium of metal stamping. After 10 years of making jewelry, Elly prides herself on making quality pieces for her customers.
